WhipSmart Books was founded in 2020 by national award-winning children’s book author, scientist, and artist Ruthy Ballard (AKA Dr. Ruth Ballard). Our press is dedicated to building scientific literacy in kids through masterful storytelling. By sparking and nurturing their natural curiosity, we empower them to adapt, thrive, and lead in a rapidly changing world. We publish award-winning, entertaining, and science-rich fantasy books for young readers, ages 9-12.
